Back to business, safe and healthy

DANIELALUQUINI.JPG

Hey! How are you doing?

I guess, more than ever, this question brings along with it a strong meaning. Most of all we need to stay healthy, sane and safe.

That is why, with businesses slowly opening and things moving forward, we need to keep our practices together, to safeguard the safety of everybody through the pandemic. Now, speaking about good perspectives, I must confess I am really looking forward to starting to plan some exciting projects!

I already began attending some shoots, respecting, of course, the main steps of health and safety.

 So, what exactly has changed?

Commercial Photography projects

PRE-PRODUCTION

This first step became even more important, to plan everything as much as possible before the shoot. This includes managing your treatments, budget and production meetings all remotely, to reduce last-minute changes on shoot days.

SHOOT DAYS

Crew

-        Reduced number of people;

-        1m-distancing whenever possible. If not, adaptation of the processes as much as possible;

-        PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as masks, to be worn anywhere on and off set;

-        Avoidance of sharing hand tools (mobile phones, pens, walkies, etc);

-        Wash and thoroughly dry hands on arrival and during the day at regular intervals;

-        Clear health etiquette (e.g. when coughing or sneezing, covering mouth and nose with the bent elbow, and avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth);

-        Sanitisation of equipment used during shooting.

Location

 -        Alcohol-based sanitisers in easy access places throughout the set/location;

-        Choice of well-ventilated locations or the use of additional equipment to change the air regularly;

-        Sufficient space for departments to maintain a minimum 1m-distance;

-        Separate covered bin for disposal of tissues and PPE.

Casting

-        Talent to dress themselves wherever possible;

-        If fittings have to be done in person, then the stylist can set up clothes and supervise fittings from a safe distance.

These procedures I follow can be found on the Association of Photographers (AOP) guidelines, made according to the Health and Safety at Work Act, Government guidelines & regulations on COVID and The Health Protection Regulations (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020 (expiring 26 Sept 2020). They can be updated regularly in response to feedback on how they work in practice.

I must thanks Custom Cleaning Services for helping me understand all those polices applying it beautifully into my business. You guys Rock!

 I know this restart can seem a little confusing and awkward, but what we need to keep in mind is that if we work together on this, things are going to be ok :)

Let’s be creative during this time

If you have a question or would like to talk about a new project, please, send me a line.

Take care,

xxx
